Hairball is a Rock & Roll experience you won’t forget. A band puts on a concert – Hairball puts on an event! The lights, sound, video screens, smoke, fire, blood, bombs, confetti, spiders, snakes & monsters (oh my) and the screaming hoards of rabid Hairball fans create an event – an event that hits you so hard, it’ll take a few days to recover! Rock & Roll will NEVER die!!!

Vocalists Bobby, Kris Vox, and Joe Dandy lead the band through a 2+ hour, mind-blowing, and drop-dead accurate homage to some of the biggest arena acts in the world. Van Halen, KISS, Motley Crue, Queen, Journey, and Aerosmith are but a few of the acts fans will see brought to life. The Hairball stage becomes an entirely new rock concert before your very eyes countless times throughout the night.

The motor that drives the Hairball dragster consists of Freaky on the electric bass, Billy on the drums, and Happy on the lead guitar. These Rock & Roll soldiers pride themselves on nailing some of the most memorable licks and chops of all time, while adding their own style and flare that they’ve cultivated over decades of tireless performing. These guys live and breathe Rock & Roll!

Hugo's Concert Series: The Johnny Holm Band

Join us on Thursday, July 25th for a live music event with The Johnny Holm Band in Downtown Grand Forks!

Leader and front man of the most widely known and traveled band in America, Johnny Holm is the most entertaining entertainer performing today. The show is dedicated to the fans, and they do most of the entertaining. Mostly impromptu, the show moves with the speed of lightning and changes direction as soon as "the pied piper" notices a lag. "Never a dull moment" was never a more true description.

Surrounding himself with the finest musicians in the Midwest, the band rocks, picks, and thunders along for 3-4 hours, almost non-stop from the first song to the last laugh.

Millions of people have seen Johnny over the years, and millions of people have been part of his fantourage.

The band plays in most of the United States but most dates are in the 5 state upper Midwest area.

Ask anyone with a twinkle in their eye or a knowing smile about Johnny. They'll try and tell you all about the mayhem that masquerades as a rock and roll band.

Koo Koo Kanga Roo

Koo Koo Kanga Roo is the dance-a-long show from Bryan and Neil, two friends who set out to experiment with live music and make it more fun. Armed with nothing more than an iPod, two mics, one giant rainbow and some gold sneakers, Koo Koo Kanga Roo puts on an all-ages dance party that invites everyone to join in. Whether you know them from "brain break" videos in your classroom, the Warped Tour or a late night bar show, you’ve probably gotten sweaty dancing to their jams at some point. Since 2008, Koo Koo Kanga Roo have been touring and putting on shows at clubs, theaters, schools, bars, colleges, church basements, dumpsters and even nursing homes. The duo has toured stateside and internationally with the likes of Frank Turner, The Aquabats, Reel Big Fish, MC Lars, Yo Gabba Gabba Live and have been featured on the Vans Warped Tour.

Fables, Insults, and Reverence: the Animals of UND Art Collections

The UND Art Collections opening, Fables, Insults, and Reverence: the Animals of UND Art Collections, will be held at the Empire Arts Center, 415 DeMers Ave, from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22 and you are invited!

This exhibition will give viewers the opportunity to enjoy a selection of animal-centric works of art. From the chicken-people of Francisco Goya to the horses of Walter Piehl, a variety of insects, birds, and mammals have come together to tell a tale of how they have each been employed by artists across centuries to illustrate stories, create allegory, and demonstrate their relationships with humankind.

The reception is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served and a cash bar will be provided by Rhombus. Live music.

Exhibit dates: Jan. 22 – Mar. 31, 2019
